Don’t panic - Here’s what you need to know about Y42’s new visual and brand identity

As you may have already seen, Y42 is undergoing a paradigm-shifting evolution. We have reimagined our software solution to provide you with the first fully managed Modern DataOps Cloud — purpose-built for production-ready data pipelines on BigQuery and Snowflake.

Naturally, the way we present ourselves to the world has to be on par with the magnitude of our new product. And so, the new Y42 brand is here.

We have a new logo, a new website, and a new vision.

Our new logo is a retro-futuristic play on data and space: a celestial body coupled with elements of a functional chart.

Why data and space?

In the book that gave our company its name, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, there’s a smart computer to which the characters pose the great question of life, the universe, and everything. The computer smugly replies, “Forty-two.” When the characters appear baffled by this nonsensical answer, the computer clarifies their problem: they have never actually known what the question is.

Y42 saves organizations countless data engineering hours that would be spent maintaining multiple tools and fixing breaking data pipelines in order to arrive at meaningful insights. We empower everyone to make data-driven decisions and allow companies to harness the full power of data. So, in a way, Y42 enables users to find the right answers to their data queries. First, they just need to ask the right questions.

The concepts of space and data share many similarities

Space is infinitely scalable, and so is the Y42 Modern DataOps Cloud.

Space is all-encompassing: every planet, star, or galaxy has a place in the cosmos. Y42 is the pulling force, organizing a plethora of tools and bringing order to data chaos.

Human exploration of space has been a bold quest since we first gazed up at the stars.
